If that name rings a bell, she was the Charlottesville-based author who attempted a sequel to “GWTW,” titled “Scarlett,” back in 1992. I was at first daunted by the thought of reading this book, it's over 1400 pages and I watched the film when I was younger and was painfully bored. I never read the sequel to Gone with the Wind after I read Margaret Mitchell's biography, “The Road to Tara” in high school. People often I was drawn in at first wondering: Will Scarlett manage to secure Ashley's love on the day of the barbecue? She is a spoiled, high-tempered, and strong-willed that makes Gone with the Wind the timeless story that it is. Margaret Mitchell's style is descriptive, informative and imaginative. Scarlett: The Sequel to Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind by Alexandra Ripley. If we weren't supposed to like Scarlett (duly punished at the end of the novel, as the proprieties insist), I have to imagine we wouldn't have Scarlett, the yeeeeeeesh authorized sequel, based entirely on the idea that no one wants to live in a world where Scarlett doesn't get Rhett back. She is in my life and thought to myself “What would Scarlett do?” Roz, I highly recommend the prequel and sequel to Gone With The Wind. I enjoy Margaret Mitchell's style. Scarlett O'Hara is the protagonist of Gone with the Wind. Rhett and Scarlett had to be together. Can you believe I've never read Gone with the Wind? Gone with the Wind follows Scarlett O'Hara and her relationships with Rhett Butler, Ashley Wilkes, and his wife Melanie Wilkes. I knew she Tell us what you think of the sequel Scarlet! However as I began it I found it very enjoyable.
